Overview

The goal of this project was to create a game-changing, world-class Brand Experience for Major Bank in the UK by improving their Brand Site. The objectives were to enhance usability, discoverability, and overall user experience while aligning with the new brand guidelines. Specific objectives included:

  1. Reduce cognitive load and improve discoverability, allowing users to find assets or guidance in three clicks or less.
  2. Prioritize function over aesthetics, focusing on a recognizable pattern for navigation ease.
  3. Act as the central repository for all Brands, catering to user goals and insights.
  4. Achieve a net positive impact on customers by providing a frictionless navigation experience and systemized shareability of assets.

Challenge

The challenge lay in integrating user insights, heuristic analysis, and aspirational features into a cohesive design strategy. This required balancing functional attributes with practicality and educational content while ensuring compliance with brand guidelines. Improving usability without sacrificing visual appeal and creating a scalable, personalized experience were key challenges.

Solution

  1. Information Gathering and Analysis: Conducted user research, identified key user journeys, and performed heuristic analysis to understand usability best practices and user intent.
  2. Design Strategy: Developed aspirational features based on best-in-class benchmarking, focusing on functionalities like contextual content, self-service provision, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  3. Content Strategy: Implemented content chunking, asset behavior features, and feature behavior strategies tailored to different content types (e.g., Brand Guides, Playbooks).
  4. Design Principles: Applied information hierarchy, searchability, visible path to completion, shareability, and rich media elements to enhance user experience and engagement.
  5. Final Design: Created a responsive website with a multi-level navigation bar, predictive search, personalized feeds, and interactive elements like videos and modular cards. The design prioritized ease of use, contextual content delivery, and intuitive navigation.

Final design

The revamped Brand Site features a clean and intuitive interface, ensuring users can accomplish their goals efficiently. Key highlights include:

  • Clear information hierarchy for easy consumption.
  • Predictive search for quick information retrieval.
  • Personalized feeds and recommendations based on user behavior.
  • Interactive elements such as videos and modular cards for engaging experiences.
  • Comprehensive asset behavior and feature behavior functionalities.
  • Adherence to brand guidelines with customizable assets and traffic light system for guidelines overview.

Overall, the project successfully transformed the Brand Site into a user-centric, functional, and aesthetically pleasing digital platform, aligning with the brand's objectives and user expectations.
